On the occasion of Earth Day New Acropolis Syracuse organized several activities to promote the protection of the environment and in particular of the Mediterranean Sea.

A large audience participated in the lecture entitled Life and Sea, attended the screening of documentaries as Thalassa and Thashed, as well as art exhibitions and the fashion show of clothing made with recycled materials. New Acropolis speakers offered several tips for interacting respectfully with the environment and as an example of what was proposed, the volunteers of New Acropolis cleaned the Temple of Apollo from weeds and the port of Syracuse from waste
