Excerpts of ‘Don Juan Tenorio’ (Bilbao, Spain)
The Antzerkina group presented a series of excerpts of Zorrilla’s famous work Don Juan Tenorio.
Through different scenes we were invited to reflect on our destiny and how we can rectify it with our actions, even at the time of our last breath, if really the experience of ‘contrition’ is pure and true. In this sense, death appears as a bridge that connects the world of the living and the world of the dead, and not as an end of existence.
The deep love Don Juan feels for the virtuous Doña Inés awakens in him the desire to become a better person and not give in to lower passions; she inspires in him the will to master himself and come closer to Virtue.
