“Monkey mind” and the art of concentration (Munich, Germany)
Public lecture on the Art of Concentration as taught by Buddhism from ancient times: as an introduction, participants learned why Buddhists refer to the human mind as “monkey mind” and why it is necessary to “tame it”.
The specialist on this matter and director of New Acropolis Germany, Gudrun Gutdeutsh, carried out several practical exercises to improve concentration and to master the restless mind.
Participants experienced for themselves the efficacy of these practices, and became more aware of the beauty and sense of mystery which accompany this personal challenge of finding inner focus and clarity.
