Closed eyes artistic presentation: «Moving through “death” » (Kiev, Ukraine)

Cultural Activities

A large audience was drawn to this unique theatrical presentation whereby people sat, with blindfolds, only hearing sounds of voices, musical instruments and… silence. Imagination filled everything else, with images and emotions.

The staging was based on the essay Moving through ‘Death’ by Jorge Angel Livraga, and tells an anecdote that happened to the author in Istanbul. On a fishing pier there were different boats and each fisherman offered their products. Among the many fish, one of them seemed to be alive. The author reflects on what it means to be alive and what life is in general.

“When the International Book Fair in Lviv was held last year, we thought about how to present our new book – a compilation of articles by Jorge A. Livraga – in a different way. We came up with this unusual eyes closed format”, said Daria Diadenko, of New Acropolis Kiev, during an interview on Hromadske Radio.
