Reforestation in the area of the Bermudez River (Heredia, Costa Rica)

Ecological Volunteering

Joint activity carried out by EPA, New Acropolis and the town hall of Belén in the protection area of the Bermudez river, which is part of the Tarcoles river basin, one of the most polluted in the country.

Over fifty volunteers participated in this reforestation campaign with a total of close to a hundred trees within a strip of approximately 150 meters. The trees are native species like the Sota-Caballo, Roble Sabana and Yellow Bark among others.

In addition to the river clean-up, this activity sought to raise awareness about the need to engage in this type of work serving the environment.

The newspaper El Guacho covered this day of volunteering.
