World Philosophy Day 2018. Celebrating the Centenary of the end of WWI: Can we find meaning in the study of history? (London, UK)

Philosophy, World Philosophy Day

This year, in November, New Acropolis in London chose a historical theme to celebrate UNESCO’s World Philosophy Day.

Four talks entitled ‘The World since WWI’, ‘Philosophy of History’, ‘Kant’s work on Perpetual Peace’ and ‘Gandhi, the Man and the Myth’ were followed by question and answer sessions and philosophical conversation. Members of the audience appreciated the wide range of topics and the invitation to become more aware of our role as actors in history, rather than merely spectators.

The event included buffet-style refreshments and the opportunity for those attending to share their ideas and establish meaningful dialogues inspired by the theme.
