Poetry Dinner – An Evening with Rumi (Chicago, USA)

Cultural Activities

Friends and members of New Acropolis Chicago gathered on a late April snowy evening to celebrate and share ideas related to the poet Rumi and Sufism.

This was our third poetry dinner, a cultural event that is held each year on National Poetry Month. Guests participated in reading Rumi’s poems and discussing ideas about love and unity. The evening ended with a homemade meal and a dabke dance of fraternity.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but to find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it”. (Rumi)
