Talk on the Philosophy of Play (London, UK)
Evening led by one of New Acropolis members, Michael Lassman, an experienced play worker. Explaining the meaning the word ‘play’ has had down the ages, he emphasised how essential play is for the human being and how it needs to be voluntary and spontaneous rather than imposed. Most of the audience, including some teachers and parents, were invited to reflect on their approach to play and as adults to remind ourselves of the inner child that is alive within us.
After some theory and discussions, the experiential part was done outdoors in a nearby park, playing games with a big parachute.
