José Carlos Fernandez, writer and national director of New Acropolis Portugal, gave in the center of New Acropolis Oporto, a workshop entitled: ‘The Art of drawing one’s soul: My book of symbols’.

Starting with an introduction to the language of symbols, he oriented the participants – who had a notebook and crayons – to tune in to their imagination and recreate images first inside, and then be transferred to paper. The quality of the drawings did not matter as much as finding within oneself inspiring images.

The connection of the participants with the creative process was strong, as well as their satisfaction in discovering how the soul can emerge and be perceived with this type of introspection.
