In an online talk given by Agostino Dominici, the speaker focused on the sacred aspect of Rome and how it informed everything the Romans did and achieved. We learnt, for example, of their concept of Fatum (Fate), similar to the Indian idea of Dharma; of the connection of Troy and Rome, through the story of Aeneas; and of the symbolism of the fight between the founders of Rome – Romulus and Remus – where Romulus represents the ordering principle and Remus the principle of chaos which has to be overcome.

Many questions were shared and discussed, enriching our understanding and knowledge of this ancient civilisation, and inspiring many to reflect on their actions as extensions of a cosmic activity.
