Third Youth Camp “Aenaeas” (Austria)
People from different nations came together at the beginning of September in St. Stefan, Styria for the 3rd Aeneas Camp. The motto of the camp was “learning to cope with a crisis”. The goal was to empower young people and to enable them to deal better with situations of crisis on both an individual, as well as a collective basis. This was achieved by theoretical, as well as practical trainings such as first aid, herbology or urban survival techniques.
Beside the trainings an ecological project was realized: the young philosophers worked on the revitalization of a biotope. In a workshop about repairing electrical items and clothes, many broken devices of the local population could be fixed. The idea behind was to set a sign against todays trend of a throwaway society.
