Celebrating Earth Day at Walden Pond (Boston, USA)

Mother Earth Day

Acropolis Boston volunteers and friends came together at Walden Pond State Reservation to celebrate Earth Day and share joyful moments admiring the park – rendered all the more beautiful by the perfect weather.
We learned about Henry David Thoreau’s life and pioneering thinking and imagined his 2 year retreat in the woods of Walden Pond.
We were intrigued by the visionary Transcendentalist movement Thoreau helped spark, which advocates that Nature is one of our greatest teachers. After a long and dark pandemic winter, we toasted to Nature of which we are part, and to the possibilities of renewal and generosity which Nature constanstly models for us. We happily shared stories and admired the pond and its surroundings through one another’s eyes.
