To celebrate the 5th of June, World Environment Day, the volunteers of New Acropolis Bilbao organised an outing to clean a route of approximately 3 kms that goes from Gorostiza to Regato. The area, known as the lung of Barakaldo, is a beautiful landscape that runs between rivers and marshes.

Although at first glance the area looked clean, the participants found and collected waste of all kinds: plastic bags and containers, cans, bottles, tissues, cigarette butts, candy wrappers, wires and even fishing line.

The activity, after having filled about 14 bags, has served to alleviate the congestion in this corner of Barakaldo and make this place healthier. An aesthetic intervention that embodies the human values that New Acropolis has been transmitting since its foundation.
