Pick up the thread! – a modern interpretation of an ancient myth (Budapest, Hungary)
At the New Acropolis Centre in Budapest, young volunteers gave a free public performance of the ancient Greek myth of Theseus and Minotaur. The young performers, staged the story of the labyrinth in which Theseus confronts the Minotaur in a modern, slam poetry style.
The audience took part in a round table discussion on the themes proceeding from the myth, but related to our time. A number of important questions were raised such as: What will be of our future if young people lose their way? In what ways and to what degree can we influence what is happening around us? They all agreed that everyone should take a share in the society and contribute to the welfare of the community regardless of the epoch or the prevailing social order.
