Throughout last year, New Acropolis paid tribute to the 250th anniversary of the birth of the great composer Ludwig van Beethoven with a series of performances with commentaries and talks.

Recitals with commentaries were given of symphonies 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9, as well as other non-symphonic material from his musical repertoire.

During this period we got an insight into his personality, his genius and his extraordinary strength to overcome the different trials he had to overcome in order to create his great musical work. This is how the definition of “Beethoven the Hero” was arrived at.
