The 29th Olympiad of New Acropolis (France)
The 29th Olympiad of New Acropolis France took place under the sun of the Perche region, at the Cour Petral last July.
On the program of sports events: races (10000m, 400m, 100m, 4x100m relay), football, volleyball, table tennis, artistic gymnastics, archery, shot put – and also artistic events (song, poem, story, photo) – not to mention the unmissable petanque and chess tournaments!
Sportsmen and artists from the 13 centers of New Acropolis in France came together to compete, surpass themselves together and unite, experience successes and defeats, touch a piece of excellence. An excellence which is not only athletic or aesthetic, but the excellence of the soul, by the selfless and voluntary effort, the gift of oneself for his team, the sharing of what is most beautiful and more harmonious in man and in Nature.
“In restoring the Olympics, I didn’t look close to me, but very far. I wanted to give back to the modern world, in a lasting way, an ancient institution whose principle was once again beneficial to it”, said Pierre de Coubertin, renovator of the Olympic Games in 1894.
Enthusiasm and joy at the effort made closed this weekend of events, with the need, more than ever, to cultivate the Olympic spirit in our daily lives.
