Lecture and book presentation: “The Bhagavad Gita and the inner war” (Lisbon, Portugal)
At the New Acropolis Centre, a lecture entitled The Bhagavad Gita and the Inner War was given by Cláudio Dumont (instructor of New Acropolis Lisbon) and Ricardo Martins (director of New Acropolis Viseu and author of the translation directly from Sanskrit, of this classic stemming from the Eastern tradition).
The lecture was followed by the presentation and signing of the book by the author.
The fundamental ideas exposed, are based on the fact that war has always been present, not only in the life of human beings, but it is part of the development of all beings in nature.
War is the struggle for survival, for overcoming obstacles, for growth. And this war has an external dimension and an internal dimension. The latter is what we can encounter in the Bhagavad Gita.
In this work we find some key pointers, which give us advice for action in situations of conflict, both internal and external, allowing the unfolding of our potentialities and thus developing the best that we have.
Thanks to the victory in this inner war, we can avoid the outer war and its terrible consequences.
