Sapling Plantation using Miyawaki technique (Mumbai, India)

Ecological Volunteering

Volunteers of New Acropolis Main Centre organised a workshop and sapling plantation at Jog Garden in Mumbai in association with Emerald Sustainable Foundation and the local municipality. Over 500 saplings were planted over 4 days using the Miyawaki technique.

Participants were taken through the entire process from soil preparation to plantation and learnt how this Japanese technique helps build dense, fast-growing forests suited to our urban needs today.

New Acropolis will now look after the upkeep of this area and also plan to conduct plantations in other parts of the city.
