New Acropolis offered parts 1 and 2 of the seminar: Neuroscience: New Paradigms, presented by Dr. Gustavo Porras.

During the seminar, the following topics were addressed:

• Brief history of neuroscience
• The human brain
• Neurons and neural networks
• The three-fold brain
• The Inexplicable in the Human Being
• New Paradigms brought forth by Neuroscience

In the world we live in, it is essential to become aware of the importance of transcending the physical brain to “encounter the Human Being and the Universe“, as Dr. Porras tells us. Referring to a phrase by writer Jorge Luis Borges, he invites us to reflect: “If we saw the Universe, perhaps we would understand it“. This would undoubtedly help us to shift paradigms towards a more nuanced approach, elevating the human being above matter, in harmony with the world that surrounds him.
