Child for Good Program celebrates 15 years (Brazil)

The Child for Good Program carried out by the International Organization New Acropolis North Brazil completed 15 years in 2022. During this period, more than 3,000 children and young people between the ages of 6 and 16 in situations of social vulnerability, residing in various administrative regions of the Federal District, received socio-educational services in the after school shift, in a planned, systematic and free way. With actions by volunteers and maintenance of godmothers, godparents and public-private initiatives through projects, in 2022, 200 children and young people were assisted from Monday to Saturday with socio-educational workshops in the areas of Art-Culture (Music, Dance, Crafts and Poetry) , Sports-Leisure and Pedagogical Support (incentives to stay in school) with the transport and food infrastructure to carry out the activities.
The participants’ families also benefit from health care provided by the Serapis Institute, a partner of the Program, in addition to social follow-up actions and guidance in the communities.

New Step
With the support, in the second half of 2022, the musical projects of the Child for Good Program were expanded and were renamed youth philharmonic orchestra and youth choir of New Acropolis. The groups performed at community events and for the general public at the end of the World Philosophy Week, at the Poupex Auditorium, on November 21st.

Party
The celebration of the Program’s 15th anniversary took place on December 4th at CAP – Paranoá Learning Community with an exhibition of works, panels that told the trail of the 15th anniversary and presentations of ballet, children’s music, orchestra, choir and capoeira.
