Cleaning of the Monumental Archaeological Zone of Shillacoto (Huanuco, Peru)

Ecological Volunteering

Volunteers from the Huanuco branch went to this important archaeological site to help with the cleaning of the surrounding area, and to inform the public about the risks of destruction of the tangible heritage and the need to care for our cultural assets.

According to research, four cultures developed in this area: Shillacoto-Higueras, Shillacoto-Kotosh, Shillacoto-Wairajirka and Shillacoto-Mito.

This event was in line with the activities promoted by the Ministry of Culture in the area of Huanuco, indirectly benefiting the entire population of this city of around 200,000 inhabitants.
