Ecological Activity “We sow life” (Peru)

Ecological Volunteering

Under the motto “We Sow Life”, hundreds of New Acropolis volunteers, students of its Philosophy Programme, planted an equal number of trees in the area of Jigón, Namora district, in the province of Cajamarca, in order to promote care for our environment.

Each member “sponsored” a tree: they planted it, gave it a name and dedicated a wish so that along with that tree, some value, feeling or virtue would grow in our beloved Peru.

As we know, Earth is a living being that needs care and respect. Planting trees contributes to its conservation, because it reduces the greenhouse effect, transforms carbon dioxide into oxygen, prevents landslide disasters and allows the life of many species – including our own – to develop in harmony.

We thank the Namora District Council for supplying the pine seedlings, and the volunteer members of New Acropolis Cajamarca, who organized this important ecological action.
