Literature club – Herman Hesse “Steppenwolf” (Sofia, Bulgaria)
New Acropolis hosted a new session of the literature club dedicated to Herman Hesse’s masterpiece – “Steppenwolf”. The evening began with a brief introduction to the life of Herman Hesse and continued with an in-depth look at the book’s key ideas, finding parallels with our own experience. Some of the key issues discussed included: seeking one’s own individuality in a traditional struggle with “bourgeois” society, what is the price of being oneself, what is the price of breaking ties with “bourgeois” society, and a few other lines. book key.
