Music, art and nature (Oeiras-Cascais, Portugal)
New Acropolis carried out a programme of activities linking music, art and nature.
This cycle consisted of three activities:
The first was a classical Persian music concert entitled ‘The Conference of the Birds’, which was performed by Kolagar and the traditional Persian music group, narrated in turn by Maria João Correia.
This concert, held at the ‘Casa das Histórias Paula Rego’, was organised by Nova Acrópole Oeiras-Cascais, Vareyna – Luso-Persian Cultural Circle and presented the ‘Third Earth Festival’. It was attended by 178 people.
The second was a ‘Summer Solstice Concert. Day of the Arts”: Persian and Portuguese Music and Poetry held at the Palácio dos Aciprestes (Linda-a-Velha) and performed also by Kolagar, the traditional Persian music group and the Portuguese guitarist Bruno Fonseca. It was attended by 94 people.
The third and last activity was the repetition of the first one at the José de Castro Auditorium, Paço de Arcos. Organised by Nova Acrópole Oeiras-Cascais, Vareyna – Círculo Cultural Luso-Persa and Centro de História Jaime Cortesão, with the collaboration of Shahla Deyhim and the support of the City Council of Oeiras and Centro de História Jaime Cortesão, it was attended by 74 people.
