Lecture: Giordano Bruno, the revolution of ideas in the Renaissance (Santiago, Chile)
Reflecting on the legacy of an advocate of free thought
The Santiago branch of New Acropolis held an inspiring public talk entitled ‘Giordano Bruno, the Revolution of Ideas in the Renaissance’. The activity took place at the organisation’s headquarters and was given by the national director of New Acropolis, Professor Francisco Duque.
During the presentation, Professor Francisco Duque discussed the life, work and transcendence of Giordano Bruno, highlighting his intellectual courage and his unwavering commitment to free thought. Bruno, a visionary Renaissance philosopher, defended revolutionary ideas about the universe, philosophy and spirituality, which led him to confront the intolerance of his time.
The talk offered the audience a unique opportunity to reflect on the value of freedom of thought in the construction of a more just and conscious society. We thank Professor Francisco Duque for his valuable presentation and all the attendees for sharing this space for dialogue and intellectual growth. We look forward to seeing you in future cultural and philosophical activities!
