Beach Clean up for the Greater Good (Chicago, USA)
Volunteers from the New Acropolis School in Chicago recently organized a cleanup of a local Lake Michigan beach, gathering over 20 pounds of waste. This initiative was part of a collaboration with the Great Lakes Alliance, an organization dedicated to conservation education and data collection on waste found along the lake’s shores. Participants not only contributed to a cleaner environment but also engaged in philosophical reflection, team-building and the practice of principles of Karma Yoga—performing selfless acts for the greater good, irrespective of the outcome.
