Cultivating Community at Sirkin Garden (Haifa, Israel)
The Sirkin Garden in Haifa, a space nurtured by New Acropolis volunteers for over a year. This project is the culmination of long-term efforts made possible through the collaboration of New Acropolis volunteers, the support of the Haifa Municipality, and the generous contributions of local business owners, who have all united to transform this urban plot into a vibrant heart for the neighborhood.
The highlight of the day was a touching tribute to Yair Einy, a beloved member of the New Acropolis community who held a deep love for nature and the outdoors. The team installed two new benches in the garden, with one formally dedicated to Yair.
Beyond the memorial, the team spent the day preparing the garden for the upcoming summer season. Through cleaning, organizing, and refreshing the signage, the garden is now fully ready to host the many community activities planned for the months ahead. This day of shared work reminded all involved that when we tend to the land, we strengthen the bonds of our neighborhood, proving that when the community, local authorities, and businesses unite, they can create a lasting legacy of beauty and connection.
