Eco-friendly clean-up on Podzhabny Island (Samara, Russia)
Volunteers from the New Acropolis headquarters in Samara carried out a successful environmental clean-up day on Podzhabny Island, a popular recreational spot for locals known colloquially as “Próran”, a name it inherited from an ancient settlement.
Despite encountering large piles of rubbish in several areas, the participants remained optimistic and motivated, aware of the importance of taking action now and giving their best. The autumnal charm of the landscape, meanwhile, provided them with the energy they needed to continue their work.
Once the work was finished, the volunteers shared an outdoor meal which served as a setting for a reflection on ‘emotional ecology’. The gathering concluded with a poetry reading.
All the participants left the island with the pleasant feeling of a day well spent, thanks to the care given with love and goodwill.
