New Acropolis Slovenia marked World Bicycle Day with a cycling trip of a special kind: a quest for hidden treasures.

During the half-day excursion, we sought to connect outer and inner exploration. No matter how long someone has lived in the same place, there is always something new to discover—a new treasure. This led us to ask how many treasures might also lie hidden within each of us.

Across the plains of Dravsko polje, among old tree-lined avenues and quiet villages, castles and manor houses still stand today, telling stories of another time. As we travelled through history, we took time to reflect on important questions about life, while interactive workshops made our search for answers more engaging.

The event was not a history lecture, but an exploration of what the remnants of local history can teach us about ourselves.

Along the cycling route, we explored the area’s imposing and mysterious castles, abandoned manor houses, and the stories they preserve.

Our outward journey also became an invitation to better understand the winding paths of our psyche, the mountains of our inner being, and the hidden treasures within us.
