A philosophical walk to turn “a look beyond the green” – celebrating the International Mother Earth Day (Bologna, Italy)

Mother Earth Day

To honor our planet and Nature, volunteers from Nuova Acropoli Bologna, in collaboration with the IU Rusconi Ghigi Foundation and under the patronage of the Borgo Panigale-Reno District, organized a philosophical walk through the Villa Ghigi park, reaching the Ronzano Hermitage.

All citizens were invited to discover the green areas close to the city, under a beautiful blue sky and warm spring sunshine, accompanied by two exceptional guides: Stefano Sturloni, a nature photographer, and Paolo Donati, an environmental educator.

Thanks to the volunteers’ research, all participants were able to immerse themselves in nature, amidst scents and colors, flowers and plants, listening to stories of centuries-old trees and curiosities related to smaller organisms, to see those details that are usually difficult to recognize but that Nature wisely preserves. A special experience to practice turning “a look beyond the green”, as stated in the title of the initiative, which concluded with a wonderful circular dance, to thank the planet Earth that is our Mother.
