Inspired by the New Acropolis International Volunteer Olympics and the World Cup, volunteers at the New Acropolis Chicago participated in a vibrant sports weekend dedicated to the Greek goddess of victory, Nike. The event featured a range of activities, including a group bike ride along the city’s picturesque lakefront, a bowling tournament in a historic alley, and competitions in chess and table tennis. Throughout the weekend, participants were encouraged to reflect on and discuss philosophical concepts surrounding competition, winning and self-improvement. They explored the benefits of engaging in sports as a means to connect the body, heart, and mind, ultimately fostering personal growth and self-awareness as a means to master oneself and develop fraternity.
