Volunteers from ‘New Acropolis’ in Kaliningrad carried out an environmental clean-up on the shores of the Vistula Spit (the Baltic Spit) in the Kaliningrad region.

During the event, participants collected rubbish and debris that had accumulated on the shores, including both items washed up by the sea and those left behind by visitors. The initiative aimed to restore the natural cleanliness of this area, which is unique for its ecological value.

In addition to the clean-up work, the volunteers planted Virginia sumac (Rhus typhina) shrubs, a species known for its effectiveness in stabilising the sandy soils typical of the area. This action is of vital importance for the conservation of the fragile ecosystem of the Vistula Spit.
