As part of the Online Reading Circle, we began reading Plutarch’s *Advice to Politicians on Good Governance*, a classic text that invites reflection on the responsibility of those in power. The discussion led to a key insight: it is not enough to demand good governance if, in our daily lives, we fail to act consistently with our own principles – as in the example of someone who calls for social order but ignores a simple red traffic light.

The meeting highlighted the importance of also cultivating an ‘inner governance’, based on discipline, consistency and principles, as the foundation for both individual and collective life. Each reading thus becomes a space for a dual perspective: outward, in terms of social critique and analysis; and inward, in terms of self-development, which enables us to be more conscious and responsible citizens.
