Volunteering (Panama)

Social Volunteering

Volunteers from New Acropolis Panama organised a heart-warming day of volunteering at the Hogar Bolívar care home, where they handed out personal hygiene items that had been donated to the organisation’s headquarters through financial contributions. The visit was not only about providing material support, but also about spending time with and keeping the care home’s residents company, fostering a warm and empathetic human connection.

During the event, the volunteers chatted with the elderly residents, listening to their stories, anecdotes and memories. Some shared family experiences and hobbies, whilst others expressed their joy through smiles and simple gestures. This experience left the participants with a profound reflection on the value of listening and the wisdom found in those who have travelled further along life’s path, reminding them that every conversation is a treasure and a life lesson.
