The New Acropolis Center in Mumbai participated in the Kala Ghoda Festival 2015, with an interactive installation, ‘The Wheel of Virtues – Discover-Awaken-Transform’. The front of the large and colorful wheel contained 20 virtues written in English and Hindi, including determination, honesty, generosity, courage, fraternity and 15 others, while the back contained the definitions of each of the virtues on a white board.
The installation had a constant flow of visitors, whereby New Acropolis volunteers encouraged participants spinning the wheel to actively practice their virtue for the next 24 hours. It was explained that one aim of the exercise was to understand that each of the virtues already exists within us, and most importantly that we are capable of giving life to these virtues by being observant and attentive to them.
The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival is held every year usually in the months of January or February in the Kalaghoda Area of South Mumbai. The festival is arguably the largest multi-cultural festival held in the country and attracts participation from across India.
