Stoics in quarantine – Lecture online (Szeged, Hungary)
The pandemic is causing a global crisis that has a noticeable impact on our lives. Dr. Ferenc Havasi delivered his presentation on the stoic attitude to life in April online.
The attitude which can give support in these difficult times also helped the ancient Roman slave (Epictetus) as well as the emperor (Marcus Aurelius) to persevere. It also helped psychiatrist Viktor E. Frankl to survive the Nazi concentration camp, and according to Stephen R. Covey it also serves as the source of the seven typical habits that highly successful people have.
The presentation was on the foundations of this spiritual attitude, and focused primarily on the feasibility of more efficient time use. Those attending the presentation had the opportunity to respond interactively to what they heard.
