Tribute to 20 years of promoting philosophy, culture and volunteering (Fortaleza, Brazil)
The 20th anniversary of the foundation of New Acropolis in Fortaleza was celebrated with a formal session at the City Hall of Fortaleza.
The director of the Dionísio Torres unit, Neide Alves, received the plaque in recognition of the relevant services provided to the people of Ceará and spoke about the contribution of Philosophy to the formation of the human being.
The director of the South unit, Vanessa Magalhães, and coordinators Liliane Pereira (Meireles), Levi Bayde (Fátima) and Leandro Aguiar (Juazeiro do Norte and Sobral) also made up the table.
The 25 volunteer professors who collaborate in the transmission of philosophical knowledge were also honored.
The event featured presentations of poetry and piano music.
In Fortaleza, the first branch was inaugurated on May 17, 2003. Today, there are four branches in the capital: Dionísio Torres, Parque Manibura/Sul, Meireles and Fátima, in addition to two other branches in the interior of Ceará, in Juazeiro do Norte and Sobral.
With its Classical Philosophy Course, adapted for more than 30 languages and without any distinction of age, social condition, political or religious position, it has benefited, all over the world, thousands of people who seek to know themselves, develop themselves and contribute to the creation of a better world.
In addition to face-to-face activities, New Acropolis also offers a series of free lectures on its YouTube channel, which already has more than 1 million subscribers and more than 110 million views.
