In Pamplona Alta, San Juan de Miraflores district, Lima, we continued with our project “Yo Amo la Lectura”, which benefited 23 children in that area.

The event, run by volunteers from our Philosophy School, took place at Educational Institution 7087 “El Nazareno”.

As support material we used “Aesop’s Fables”, whose stories teach us values through simple narratives; the leading characters are usually animals, whose behaviours represent attitudes we should avoid or imitate.

We started with some warm-up exercises and game songs with the children, with the aim of promoting teamwork and developing a spirit of order and perseverance. We read the fables in small teams to encourage questions and reflection on the structure and message of the tales.

At the end we brought everyone together with a beautiful song.
