Theatre: “Nature Speaks” (Guatemala, Guatemala)
Every year, Earth Day is commemorated worldwide. Various institutions carry out awareness-raising activities, such as events, talks or walks, around the theme of the importance of caring for natural resources.
Many actions can be taken to take care of our planet, such as unplugging appliances that are not in use, turning off the lights in the room when no one is there, recycling plastics, saving water, and not polluting rivers. These are all small contributions that, if done daily, help to reduce pollution to Mother Earth. In support of the activities to celebrate Mother Earth Day, and above all to raise awareness about the need to care for Mother Earth herself, the play “Nature Speaks” was performed, reflecting on the importance of caring for our planet and how small acts contribute a lot to the care of the environment. At the end of the event, participants shared their reflections and the lessons learned, took photos with the cast of the play and also shared refreshments.
