Visit to the Iximché archaeological site (Guatemala, Guatemala)
Volunteers from New Acropolis Guatemala visited the archaeological site of Iximché, capital of the Kaqchikel kingdom, abandoned around 1527. During the visit we learned more about its history, architecture, sacred elements and even the importance they gave to the planet Venus.
It was a morning of immersion in the history and symbols of one of the main civilizations that developed in ancient Mesoamerica, the Maya.
