Schools in Pará raise funds for flood victims in Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil)
New Acropolis schools in Pará raise funds for flood victims in Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) through a June festival. Students from Belém and Ananindeua gathered to celebrate the June festivities with the intention of raising funds for the benefit of flood victims in Rio Grande do Sul.
The event took place at the headquarters of the IPEARTE Institute, where one of New Acropolis’ social assistance programs operates. Approximately 150 people participated, enjoying typical foods and a lively celebration. New Acropolis volunteers prepared the space, food, and activities to welcome the visitors. The participants’ joy added to the excitement of the event.
In addition to ticket sales, the event also featured booths selling typical foods to raise funds. The amount raised reached R$ 5,000.00 and was destined to help flood victims in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The 2024 floods began in late April and extended through May, affecting 471 cities. Currently, residents in the region still rely on donations and volunteers to rebuild their lives.
The New Acropolis schools in Belém and Ananindeua thank all the participants who contributed to the success of this event. Unity and solidarity for the benefit of the community are fundamental principles of the International Nova Acrópole Organization. Actions like this showcase the students’ and volunteers’ aspiration to share the practices experienced within this philosophical school with society.
