Good Luck: Philosophical Café (Águas Claras, Brazil)
Parque Sul in Águas Claras hosted a gathering of the Philosophical Café series organized by New Acropolis. The starting point for the reflections was the book “Good Luck” by Alex Rovira and Fernando Trias. Besides enjoying the late afternoon, participants could ponder the relationship between luck and individual actions.
The chosen book combines elements of a fable filled with philosophical teachings. Through a narrative rich in metaphors and practical lessons, the authors debunk the idea that luck is a product of chance. The work shows us that it is possible to shape our own destiny through our attitudes towards life.
Professor Karla Lacombe, director of New Acropolis in Águas Claras, led the dialogue, highlighting some of the main ideas. Participants were able to reflect together on the concepts presented in the book, such as the importance of preparation, persistence, and cultivating the necessary conditions for our “good luck”.
Combining afternoon coffee, reading, and Philosophy, Philosophical Café is an initiative of New Acropolis aimed at promoting reflection and dialogue on topics relevant to life.
