Public Defender’s Office of the DF signed a cooperation agreement with New Acropolis (Brazil)

The Public Defender’s Office of the Federal District (DF) signed a cooperation agreement with New Acropolis on Thursday, July 4, in Brasília (Brazil). With an audience of 600 attendees, the ceremony took place in the auditorium of DNIT, in the center of the federal capital.

The agreement was signed by the Public Defender General, Dr. Celestino Chupel, and the National Director of New Acropolis Brazil for the North area, Professor Luís Carlos Marques Fonseca. This agreement proposes the implementation of joint educational and social activities.

In his speech, the Chief Defender explained that, through the School of Legal Assistance (EASJUR), he seeks a solid partnership. His purpose is to disseminate knowledge and mainly promote Justice, Citizenship, and Human Rights. “Seeing the fruitful work that New Acropolis carries out fills us with pride, as an institution committed to social justice and human rights,” he said.

“We work to contribute to the human development of society, because mere skills are not enough; we need to develop virtues, especially Kindness,” emphasized Professor Luís Carlos Marques Fonseca.

The Youth Philharmonic Orchestra of New Acropolis opened the ceremony under the conduction of Maestro Ricardo Sousa-Castro, receiving a standing ovation after the performance. After that, Professor Lúcia Helena Galvão delivered a lecture titled “Ethics as an Expression of Justice,” concluding the event.
