World Philosophy Day (Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina)
New Acropolis Sarajevo celebrated World Philosophy Day with a series of events dedicated to the value of philosophy, ‘Philosophy in Action’.
The event started with a street activity and a philosophical game “Your heroic task”. Passers-by could choose one of the offered ethical challenges as well as an appropriate quote from one of the prominent philosophers. Challenges and messages were an instigator for fellow citizens to converse with our volunteers and get acquainted with the association’s work.
Another event was a workshop for young people “My philosophy of life”. The workshop was organized for high school students, in collaboration with the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The celebration ended with the event od shared reading “I read to you, you read to me”, in which the attendees read aloud the letters of the philosophers Plato, Seneca and Cicero. Reading aloud together and active listening was a good way to meet philosophers and, why not, ourselves.
