Lecture series: Shakespeare and Philosophy (Portugal)
New Acropolis held a series of summer lectures entitled: Shakespeare and Philosophy. This series is being given by the writer and national director of New Acropolis Portugal, José Carlos Fernández, with the following programme:
23 July – Hamlet and the Crossroads of the Soul
30 July – Troilus and Cressida, Love as Overcoming and Death
6 August – King Lear and the Drama of Power
13 August – Romeo and Juliet and the Love of Soul Mates
27 August – The Winter’s Tale and the Path of Tragedy and Hope
3 September – Measure for Measure and the Purity of Justice
This is a way to spend the summer with beauty and philosophy, demonstrating that relaxation and rest are compatible with delving into the mysteries of human beings and the universe.
