Cultural Volunteering

Young students from the Janus Program in the Federal District had a unique experience in Chapada dos Veadeiros (Brazil). Organized by volunteers from New Acropolis Brasília, the activity took the young people on an unforgettable adventure of contact with nature and philosophy.

Camping and ecological trails

Under the guidance of Giane Ribeiro, secretary of Active Ecology of New Acropolis Brazil, North area, and other volunteer teachers, the participants camped in a inn located in Chapada dos Veadeiros. In addition to enjoying the natural beauty of the region, the students participated in ecological trails and were able to enjoy its famous waterfalls.

Philosophy classes were one of the highlights of the program, providing young people the opportunity to reflect on the virtue of Permanence. A visit to a farm allowed participants to learn about wheat cultivation, production concepts, and the basics of less harmful agriculture for the planet.

Saturday night was blessed with stargazing. This experience gave students a new perspective on the universe and their place in it. The overall experience also allowed for coexistence with friends and overcoming internal limits.
