Architecture: Transforming the World Brick by Brick (Mumbai, India)

Cultural Activities

The New Acropolis Culture Circle hosted a studio visit and discussion with architect Sameep Padora. The conversation explored the philosophical values and principles that make his work beautiful, meaningful, and inspiring.

Sameep spoke of his pursuit for the kind of architecture that changes people’s lives through various examples ranging from the Temple of Steps in Andhra Pradesh,  the Aatam Hostel In Kota, to the Jetavan Buddhist Learning Centre in rural Maharashtra. He presented, among other things, the architect’s role in the evolution of society and the architect’s responsibility to the community and not merely to financial demands. He believes that “When you make a building, you make yourself”.
