‘Eco-Awareness’ Day (Arequipa, Peru)
Las Torres Avenue in Alto Selva Alegre, Arequipa, was the venue for the “Eco-consciousness” environmental event, an initiative that succeeded in raising awareness among more than 1,600 people about the importance of preserving the environment.
Organised by volunteers from the Arequipa Branch, committed to making a positive impact on their community. Through participatory activities, thought-provoking messages and creative materials, the volunteers sought to inspire local residents to adopt sustainable habits and take an active role in protecting the planet.
The event focused not only on environmental information but also on encouraging personal and collective transformation. “Every action counts” was one of the key messages conveyed during the event, highlighting that change begins with individual awareness and is strengthened by collective example.
The community expressed their gratitude and emphasised that initiatives such as this are essential for building a fairer, cleaner and more responsible environment for future generations.
The “Eco-awareness” event left a clear message: caring for our planet is a shared responsibility, and the first step is being willing to change.
