‘I Love Reading’ Project. Opening of the ‘Yachay’ children’s library (Lima, Peru)
Volunteers from New Acropolis Lima have opened the “Yachay” Children’s Library in Villa María del Triunfo, a new space designed to foster a love of reading and instil values in children
With great enthusiasm and a spirit of service, volunteers from New Acropolis opened the “Yachay” Children’s Library in the Ficus El Pedregal settlement in Villa María del Triunfo. This new space forms part of the national “I Love Reading” project, which aims to foster a love of books and human values through hands-on experiences.
The library will directly benefit more than 1,500 people in the community, including children, young people and families, becoming a meeting place for learning, creativity and social interaction.
The event brought together 62 children, 25 parents and 32 volunteers, who joined forces to make a shared dream a reality: to provide the youngest members of the community with a place where they can read, learn and dream.
