Volunteers and guests of New Acropolis participated in a lively culinary workshop at the New Acropolis center in Mumbai. Three chefs, volunteers at the center, having a passion for the art of cooking, led the event which began with an emphasis on the virtue of moderation with food. The chefs shared several quick, light and healthy recipes for salads, dips, desserts and drinks.
The medicinal and nutritional values of various ingredients were explained along with basic techniques. The explanations were drizzled with myths related to cooking and lessons on how mindfulness is a key ingredient in the food experience. The event ended with a sumptuous lunch with the food prepared during the workshop.
